Privacy Policy

Effective 12 August 2026

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell personal data, and we do not build profiles of individual shoppers. We measure which pieces people look at so we know what to stock, and we keep what you send us on WhatsApp for as long as it takes to complete your order.

Who we are and what this covers

TrendsByPrecii is a women’s fashion store operating in Nigeria. We decide why and how the personal data described here is handled, which under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 makes us the data controller for it.

This policy covers this website and the order conversations that begin from it. It does not cover other companies’ services, even where we link to them — WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and the couriers who deliver your parcel each operate under their own privacy policies.

What we collect

What you send us

The store has no customer accounts and no checkout, so nothing is collected from you on this site by form. Everything we hold about you personally is what you choose to send us in a message: typically your name, phone number, delivery address, the pieces you want, and anything else you write — including photographs, if you send them to us to support a return.

What the site records automatically

Our own analytics record page views, which products are viewed, searches made on the site, sizes selected, and taps on the “Order on WhatsApp” button. Each record holds the event type, the page path, the product or category involved and, where relevant, the selected size.

To count visitors we create a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string and the current date, combined with a secret key held on our server. We store only that hash, never your IP address itself. Because the date forms part of the input, the value changes every 24 hours: we can count how many people visited today, but we cannot follow anyone from one day to the next, and the value cannot be reversed back into an IP address.

What we deliberately do not collect

  • No payment details. Payment is arranged directly with you and never on this site.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.
  • No device fingerprinting and no precise location data.
  • No customer accounts or passwords, because the storefront does not have them.
  • No sensitive personal data. Please do not send us any — health information, biometrics, or anything similar is not needed to sell you clothes.

How we use it

  • To confirm, pack, deliver and support your order, and to handle returns.
  • To answer the questions you ask us.
  • To decide what to stock. This is what the analytics are for: which pieces are viewed and searched for tells us what to buy next.
  • To keep the site working, detect abuse, and protect it against fraud.
  • To meet obligations the law places on us, such as keeping business records.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not use your data to build an advertising profile.

Our lawful basis for using it

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 we rely on the following bases, depending on what the data is for:

  • Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before one — everything involved in confirming and delivering an order.
  • Legitimate interests — understanding which pieces are popular so we stock the right things, and keeping the site secure. We use the least identifying method we can for this, which is why visit counting is built the way it is described above.
  • Legal obligation — where a law or a regulator requires us to keep or produce records.
  • Consent — where we ask for it directly, for example before sending you anything promotional. You can withdraw consent at any time, and doing so does not affect what was done before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We do pass it to the following, only as far as each of them needs it:

  • Delivery partners — your name, address and phone number go to the courier carrying your parcel.
  • Technology providers who run parts of the service on our instructions: website and server hosting, the database, and the cloud storage that holds product images.
  • WhatsApp, which carries the conversation itself and is operated by Meta under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, where they need it to advise us.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim or to prevent fraud or harm.
  • A buyer or successor, if the business is ever sold or reorganised. Any such recipient would be bound by this policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

We set no tracking or advertising cookies on the storefront. Your browser holds a temporary session identifier in sessionStorage so that several actions in one visit are grouped together; it is discarded when you close the tab.

A cookie is used in one place only: to keep a member of our own staff signed in to the private administration area. It is not set for shoppers.

Your browser lets you block or delete storage of this kind. Because we rely on none of it to track you, blocking it will not change what you see in the shop.

How long we keep it

  • Order conversations stay in WhatsApp for as long as they are useful for supporting the order, handling a return, and keeping the business records the law requires.
  • Analytics records are kept to inform buying decisions. They contain no name, address or contact detail, and the daily visitor value cannot be tied back to you.
  • Product images and descriptions remain published while a piece is listed.

When we no longer need something, we delete it. If you ask us to delete messages and delivery details you have sent us, we will, unless a law requires us to keep a particular record.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to the administration area is restricted to named staff and protected by hashed passwords, and the data we hold is kept on managed infrastructure with access limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet, but we will tell you and the regulator about a breach affecting your data where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Some of the providers described above operate outside Nigeria, so your personal data may be stored or processed abroad. Where that happens we take the steps the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires for cross-border transfers, including using providers that are contractually bound to protect it to an equivalent standard.

Children

This store is intended for adults, and our Terms of Service require you to be 18 or over to order. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us at our WhatsApp number and we will delete it.

Your rights

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have data deleted where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, our use of it;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable form; and
  • withdraw consent where our use of the data was based on it.

To exercise any of these, write to us at our WhatsApp number. We may ask a question or two to confirm we are dealing with the right person, and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Other sites we link to

Our pages link to services we do not control, including WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok. A link is not an endorsement, and what those services do with your data is governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store changes. The effective date at the top always tells you which version you are reading, and material changes will be posted here before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
